Its once a year again.. i re-visited my ahGong & ahMa.

My last visit also a year ago during this Chinese “qin ming” season.

Early morning, 6am already go in, less than an hour, I’ve done cleaning their graves together with another 4 relatives of mine.

What did i said to them, i said “rest in peace in heaven, ahGong ahMa”.

Last but not least, of course i did ask them to bless my love ones…

Taiwan Travelogue: Local Fruits

30

March

goolooloo11:09 pm6 comments

Do u know that actually Taiwan’s agriculture is very innovative? I bet, u dunno, not until i tell u this!

img_1799.JPG
I’m holding the Milk Apple, it is big, as round as my face, err i think mine is bigger, i mean myFace.

According to our tourguide, the milk apple was invent by the taiwanese. Istead of red apple, they add in milk flavor. How they did it, i dunno. How it taste, i even dunno! Cos our apple was left at hotel, wuwuwu! RM7 for one piece!

img_1797.JPG
Milky Apple.

In Malaysia, we get used to scale things either by gram or kilogram. Somehow, in places like China, Hongkong and also Taiwan, their measurement unit is in Catty / Kati / or 斤which is equal to 680grams.

This is why, sometimes its quite a confusion when weighting some items. Not only we need to convert the currency from NT to RM, but even buying fruits also have to know from Catty to Grams then to RM per kilo. That’s complicated!

img_1808.JPG
Mini Tomato.
Nothing to deny also, their fruits look damn juicy and nice. But we didn’t try most of it, just bought a few and share.

img_1812.JPG
Pala.
It taste like guava, very crunchy and and with a small seed inside.

Anyway, today’s topic we are talking about Fruits in Taiwan, its like very normal when u go some foreign country, you would like to taste their local fruits. Eat more fruits is good for health too.

So this 2 little pretty decide to get some fruits from the hawker at ShihLin nite market. Here come the funny scene happen, i was just beside waiting, meanwhile i see them picking up their fav. fruits.

They’ve just chosen 3 types.
Please take a look at Ivy’s expression. The lady in Pink.

img_1943.jpg
See her face, she frowned!
And Elsie was like , err…… with no answer..

img_1944.jpg
Ivy did not hear wrongly, its really 300 yuan. See her hand holding 1000 yuan, she’s about to pay. But the eyes and the mouth open so big. 3 types of fruits

300 yuan = RM30 est.
1 packet should be 1catty = 650grams
* correction from Yen, its NT400 for that 3 packets of fruits*

The moral of the story… dun buy so much fruits its very expensive!! And we learn from mistakes, we ask our tourguide bring us to more rural area and we can stop by to taste some local fruits which is cheap, and nice!

img_2849.JPG
Yen with AngMo durian.

img_2852.JPG
Ooops this is the Angmoh Durian, actually we call it soursop also. Somehow, those in taiwan is really not sour at all!

img_2853.JPG
Next, we go this Jambu stall called 黑珍珠。

img_2859.JPGimg_2862.JPG
Idunno why.. their fruist are jus so nice!!!

img_2880.JPG
Our group photo~ Yay. Hope u like this fruit entry of Taiwan.

I’m sleep liao. Good nite!

I’m very gloomy now, not enough sleep. But just because i just had my lunch, infact of getting some sleep *scare jadi pig*, i think i better blog something more humorous first, before i continue my travelogue.

emelda-rosmila-manja-lara-manjalara.jpgimg_5606.JPG
                           Manja vs Manja

Come and take a look at the above picture.. lol.. I’m not just purposely to take this picture, there’s a story behind.

I’m just being sot plug, and dig out my old non-degree spec and wore it for fun. I was at one receptionist counter and come across the below scenario.

*Receptionist A toking to B*
A: Mel, u tengok bunting tu macam manja lara ke?
B: ah Ah la..

Hey, u really think i am deaf har? Halo, i know u toking yr language but i can understand ok?? Hmm, respect sikit la. If beside me got other people i will think she is mentioning other ppl, but i know she’s toking bout me, cos there’s only me at the counter, and they laugh at me!!! TMD!!!

I keep that in mind, and keep thinking, repeat and repeat again. Then i try to comfort myself, maybe they say i am as cute as Manja? Or maybe they say i am pretty as Lara?? hahaha.. i guess i think too much. Let me tell u who is the actual Manja Lara.

Long ago, i did catch the tv3 malay drama series, and tats when i was addicted to watch Manja Lara. Manja is a FAT girl but she heritage all the wealth from her mom. People tends to hate her, but get closer to her because of her wealth. Stories leads to revenge, and end up Manja had turn into a pretty and hot Lara. The identity of Lara was keep unknown until the very last episode.

180px-manja-joff.jpg
This is LaRa, pretty ley…

So now, its quite clear u know its impossible that the 2 girls is saying i look like Lara instead of Manjarite.!? so wat?? Manja ma Manja la.. infact i am really Manja mar.. hor???

img_5562.JPGimg_5572.JPG

Lol.. aku memang manja. Blerk… Cos i am 老chubby! Ho ho ho ~

So today u learn new word!
Manja = Spoilt = 被宠坏的=gOoloOloO
