June

I could have blog much more earlier if I am able to access to my laptop or have more time for myself. Anyway, hope that i manage to use the time being wisely, before i get idle again for sometime.

Guess that many of you here have read the bloggers meet from the other bloggers. So here i just put on some links just in case you wanna know more in details for the meet and the makan-makan at My Kokoberry Outlet.

Sixthseal | MyLongKang | ClareNg | Clement | SuiTuaPui

caughtinact
Don’t guess, it is HuaiBin at the back, and the ciggies belongs to him.

I do have great night spending with the bloggers on the Saturday Nite, revealing their real faces, knowing their personal identity and even we have phone number exchanged. From strangers, turn into a real friend =) Thanks for HuaiBin from Sixthseal for inviting me to the meet, and thanks so much to STP for the treat.

In return, I invited them to my shop the next morning, which also Father’s Day to try out the beverages and crepes at my shop.

kokogroup

The morning is still young, although with a little drops of rains, but HB suggested to go for an outing. Since UncleBeng is going to be the Super Moderator, i bet we all “safe”. There we go, Bintangor for the very popular “Rojak” and “Bintangor Orange Juice”.

*pssssh.. if go alone with HB, guess i’ll be the next in the XX chromosome. Blerk!

Here you go, enjoy the photo series of SuperModel aka Mr Poh Huai Bin from Sixthseal.com

*Hmmph, will this bring Traffic Surge to me as well? I bet it will.

mp3
HB’s favourite song in his car audio player. He sings badly, he admit. But he loves this song.

refuel
HuaiBin refuel RM50 Petrol to his DarkVios, although Petrol Price increasing, but not a big deal for Big Taukeh!

bintangor oren
Honestly, Bintangor is a really small town, and its famous agricultural products is the Local Mandarin Orange.

OJ
Then, this is HB’s favourite drink, OJ – Orange Juice. The Ori and the Bintangor’s OJ.

trees
I love this snapshot by the riverside of Bintangor. Ooops. Caught someone’s shadow inside.

selamatjalan
In fact of Selamat Datang, i found the Selamat Jalan.

Ok la.. Ok la..
I know. All those are craps, you wanna see Huai Bin rite??
Here you go, open your eyes big big.. and get your tissue ready, either to puke or to wipe yr saliva. =.=

chao ah beng
He could really be a supermodel if the beer belly is *gone? IMPOSSIBLE..

hb tattoo
I bet you know, he has full of Tattoo’s on his body. But have you ever really see it in close up mode? Hehe.. We did!

jungle peep
Uncle Beng is creative enough, to ask our supermodel, stand naked, under some shaded leaves as we are peeping HB peeing.

We do really have some wonderful time at Bintangor. But Uncle Beng suggest to go for Sarikei!! This uncle is really super energetic *i thought in mind* So.. since no one object, and the drivers make a turn, there we go, Sarikei!

What are so special about Sarikei?
They said PINEAPPLE. Grrr.. That’s all?
p.apple
HuaiBin said.. Asam Tomyam Prawn Noodles. Grrrrrrrrrroool!!!!

Seems like bloggers are really KIASU. We all agree this terms. =)

We couldn’t locate the shop, therefore we have stop nearby the riverside and have some snap shot.

family fishing
Its so nice to see the whole family sitting by the river, fishing together, and its Father’s day!

HuaiBin try hard to memorized back the location of Glory Cafe. What he only know, its next to a Magnum 4D shop. After some several attempts, we finally got it! It was about 5pm, they are actually about to close, as its Sunday Evening. But the owner are very keen enough to serve us the 4 bowl of ASAM TOMYAM PRAWN NOODLES.

Prawn Noodles
UncleBeng says, now I believe on HB’s food review.
The noodles is really fantastic, as the tomyam soup will absorb into the noodles, and the prawns are so big and fresh!!!! Its really worth for RM14. Very very worth, even with the petrol prices increase, its still worth to drive from Sibu to Sarikei just for this bowl of noodles!!!

finish
Bloated. See the mess done by 4 of us. Its simply super delicious!

Time passes very fast.

GPS is functioning to locate the way back to SIBU.
You know wat? HB is poor in sense of directions too! Kekee..

hb on ferry
On the ferry, way back to Sibu.
Hey. Take a look at the front seat, someone has turn into sleep mode. Uncle Beng is not as energetic as i thought! He fall asleep on the way back to Sibu.

Disclaimer: The trip consists of few bloggers which they insist to stay anonymously, so..dun simply think something irrelevant ah… let HB be the super star of the day. Cheers!

Last but not least.
The lamest photo of HB.

lamest

HB: Don’t kill me, you still need GPS to get function someday~ Cheers!!!

P/S: The prawn noodles are on UncleBeng’s treat! He was so happy cos he celebrated the Father’s Day with his 3 newly adopted kids. And he tasted the best prawn noodles!!! Thumbs Up! And Thank you Beng Beng, next round should be on HB. :)

H2 Optical in Delta Mall, Sibu

13

June

H2 optical is brand new optical shop located at Delta Mall,Sibu, which is run by a young and handsome entrepreneur call Jeff. I tell you, its true that Delta Mall consist of the most good brand in it, just like Popular book store, SenQ, Nokia, KokoBerry, SkinFood and lots more to come.

h2 optic

Non the less, H2 optical is also another good shop in town! They are selling lots of special designer’s glasses which you hardly get in the market.

shop

The salesperson are friendly and easy to deal with. Especially when you try to negotiate for a good price!

designer

Since my glasses all torn out and scratches everywhere.. so there it goes, i chosen a nice one. I think the main reason i choose this sunglass are due to the white framing and its wide enough to cover my face.

my sunglass

Guess how much is that sunglass cost?

Anyway.. good news to tell you.. they are actually doing some promotion for sunglasses, err. up to 50% ley. Say introduce by goolooloo maybe got extra 1%. haha..

Now. Here’s the haolian girl’s look! Tata!

June

This is the first time i blog right away from the lunch place, right on the dining table.

Food Encounters continues today by introducing the set lunches available at Cafe-Cafe. One of my favorite spot in Sibu. If you ask me what’s so good in Sibu, i will say nothing good except this.

icetea
First, comes along with the set lunch, a glass of Ice Tea

vege
Second, it compliments with a bowl of Vege Soup – it contains of some green green thing that i dislike the smell.

Here you go to see what we have ordered:
kapitan chicken
This is what i always order :) Today’s acar-acar taste very nice.

ayam bali
First time i order Ayam Bali, contains of 2 chicken wings with creamy sauces.

Gulp~ Bloated now!
Its already 1.30pm, crowds are getting lesser but there are still people coming in. Nowadays students are very rich, come here for lunch after school.

I’m still here enjoying the free wifi, and continue my meal with appetizer.
Oreo Cheese
Particularly, the cake is not moisture enough, a bit too dry. Anyway, i love cheese!

Overall, its RM27.50 a lunch for two.
Time to work.

十哩香肉骨茶 GOOD TASTE BAK KUT TEH RESTAURANT

No need to introduce much to MIRIANS as it has been popular enough among the communities. When Bak Kut Teh was firstly introduce in Miri, it could be 10 years ago if not mistaken. It was initially located at Krokop5 just opposite Woodman S/B. Their long run efforts does pay off, recently they have relocated their shop to Centre Point, a new commercial area in MIRI.

interior

Another food hunting escape, i had my lunch there with Nee. One of our favorite spot.
As usual we will order our own portion of favorite pot, then add on with a plate of vege.

chilies
Chillies and Garlics are a MUST while eating BakKutTeh!

mypot
This is what i order, I only want pork ribs and lean meats.

vege
Add on with Baby Kaylan.

our meal
See..its so tempting ley!!!

Plus and minus, RM15 per person is consider at a very affordable price for a big portion of Bak Kut Teh.

FoodEncounter: Ala-MAK!!!!

12

June

I’m still in SickMode, thanks for all the concerns, I’m getting better today.

Ala-Makkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk sounds a bit overacted but in fact it is one of the Nasi Beriani Gam Restaurant in MIRI. Back to college life in W.Malaysia, Nasi Briyani or Beriani are quite common, but as usual its part of the authentic Malay food, which i do fine it a bit oily and spicy * it depends*. But still, its YUMMY!

I visited Ala-Mak restaurant under the recommendation of some members in Mc.Net. Curiosity does trigger my appetite to try out most of the good food in Miri.

alamak
Alamak is just located at Krokop 10, same row as Sea Horse Pub & Bistro.

nasi briyani
I ordered Nasi Beriani with Chicken – RM10

Interior
The interiors are quite simple, with ceiling fans, but out of simplicity there’s a smoking zone!

outside
For those who prefer sitting along the corridor, or more preferable for smokers can choose to sit outside.

From what i observe, this is another “Oil&Gas” hangout. Their business are running quite well, especially during lunch time. Why wait? Give it a try if you are one of the Briyani lover!

So apart of the above Authentic Nasi Briyani, here comes another set of No No Nasi Briyani that i’ve tried on Air Asia’s snack attack.

I pre-ordered one Nasi Briyani RM8 and One Roti Canai RM5. I expect it will be as nice the very popular Pak Nasser’s Nasi Lemak, but its a big disappointment!!

Nasi Briyani
Sri Melur Jaya Nasi Briyani with Curry Chicken

roticanai
Sri Melur Jaya Roti Canai

My conclusion, anything start with Sri Melur wouldn’t taste good. I’ll stick back to Pak Nasser’s!

FoodEncounter: Annie’s Little Kitchen

11

June

The increasing of FAT level in my body is not a joke, its all because of those tasty and yummy food I’ve come across in MIRI and i’m gonna let you know some of my favorites.

Here you go for a kick start, Annie’s Little Kitchen located at Lutong Baru, MIRI. Its quite amaze that in such a residential area, it hidden a wonderful cafeteria, I bet the owner name is Annie. The lady boss is a very friendly person who like to be friend with all its customers. This is a very good attitude to practice. ;)

Annie Little Kitchen

How to get there? hmm.. its quite complicated, make sure you know the direction to LUTONG BARU then there it goes, only few show houses, go to the back side, its located along the road side.

I remember back in CURTIN life, there is also a food stall operated by them. As there’s not much choices in the canteen, so i stuck with their food mostly cos it looks more hygiene and healthy, err quite pricey for a student back then.

To my surprise, after so many years, under the recommendation of my JiakBuiBui gang, i found this place once again. Here you go for some pictures to trigger your appetite.

Here are just a few dishes that we’ve tried before. :)
tempura fish
currylamb
beef
greencurry
steak
calamansi
Sago
blackbean
choc muffin

You can either order it in a separate dishes or you can just pick the set menu of the day. That’s what i normally do, pick a set menu and it comes with main course, desserts and drink.

Although its a bit pricey if you compare to coffee shop, but i think its worth for the big portions and their food taste great.

I normally dine there during lunch hour, and notice there are lots of OIL&GAS staffs dining there. If you living nearby or working nearby also, do give them a try! People stay at airport also drive down to eat, believe it or not? Try it then you know. :)
