Pulau Sapi, Sabah Travelogue

13

August

Travel Destination: Pulau Sapi, Kota Kinabalu , Sabah
Mode of Transport: Air Asia Boeing 737 and Speed Boat

Goolooloo is back in action presenting my Sabah Travelogue of the wonderful Sapi Island. I try to get myself some rest, but don’t know why whenever I wanna rest, surely got more things to be done. Anyway, nothing can stop me from blogging, even I’m away at the island I also want to update my blog, cos goolooloo blogs daily! Blerk! Let’s begin, fasten your seatbelt please!

Air Asia is once again keeping the on-time performance. Our flight suppose to take off at 8.15am, somehow it took off earlier and we arrived in KKIA at 8.30am! There were 6 of us taking the same flight, so we proceed to the hotel to settle down our luggage.

Liang and I are just too excited, Yo Yo! Check it out!

I have another 2 friends who have arrive a day earlier than us are waiting for us at KK. Hence, we gonna meet them at the wharf and make a move to the island. Our schedule were plan earlier that we should go to Pulau Sapi for the 1st day, and Pulau Manukan the later.  Both are the Island from the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park.

The Jesselton Point

By taxi from Hotel to the wharf will actually cost you RM10-12 even though the distance are pretty near. The taxi drivers here shout their standard price as they like, if you looks more to foreigners, then the knife tends to be sharper. Anyway, since we are budget sharing, RM10-12 does not make a big differences, but still if can bargain, that’s still the best.

When you got to Jesselton Point, the first thing to find out are the packages available for different island. You better do your own research at home before you come, cos each of them looks very attractive!

Anyway, we prefer not to go for package, so we took the speedboat from counter 4 to Sapi Island, and it cost RM16 per person. Then you gotta pay RM3 for the tax at counter 2. Please check with the counter if the tax are included, else you gotta be like us wasted time run here and there to pay this and that.

I had this Sambal Bihun from the Wharf Food Court. Its quite economical, RM1.50 only. Kakaka.
Breakfast is essential before we took off to the island, you can imagine, once you are up in the air the items are double price, then once you are over in the island, the price might be double too! Make sure you bring a big bottle of mineral water with you before you depart!

Path way to the wharf

Hey.. enough time to camwhore first. Hehe.. but honestly I’m quite excited to see the beautiful sky and sea. While waiting to get on board, take a chance to snap as much as i can.

There are the marine control man who in charge of the passenger safetiness .Mostly are the indonesians who works at the wharf. He caught my attention, not his tan body la, but his butt! Ok, see his jeans so gaysi, many many pockets and clipped with Walkie Talkie. Oh ya, he wears John Langford punya undies wor!

The snorkerling sets are for rent too, since we have 8 person so we just rent 4 sets which cost RM15 per set. It consist of snorkeling tools and the life jacket.

The 8 of us. Are you ready??

Finally we get on board around 10.30am. We wasted quite some time waiting the marine controller to instruct us and we doesn’t aware that we are supposed to pay the RM3 tax. So from goolooloo’s guide, there’s nothing to be wrong. At least, I learn from mistake and you learn from me. :)

This is yen and I on the speed boat.

The boat journey to pulau sapi takes around 15 minutes. Depends on the rough wave, put on your life jacket and hold well!

Here we arrive at Sapi Island.
The fishes are surrounded at the Jetty.

The fishes are just as near as your eye sight can catch.

It was beautiful, awesome, breathtaking!!!

Here you go, let’s have a group photo before we get wet!

Welcome to Pulau Sapi.

Beautiful blue sky and clear water.

There’s lots of people swimming at the beach, but somehow, please swim at your own risk, as there is too much visitors per day, do not assume the life guard can be alert at all time.

Time to have fun!!!! Please make sure Sun Block is apply before you go for sun bath!!!!!!!

Phewittttttttttttttt… who is this???????????? Google Tokenio la!!!!!!!!!! Wakkakaka!

Snorkerling time.
Here you go for the 1st round. Sofia, Yen and Liang

Then here we go for the 2nd round, Luoon and I.
Don’t we look funny?

Thanks to Luoon, I snorkered for 2 times.

This is the first time in my life i do snorkerling, its quite adventurous for a non-swimmer like me, who have phobia drowning into the sea, and i am lucky enough to have a friends who can guide me all the way to snorke.

The snorkerling experience was great. I can see lots of fishes and corals. Though from the eye we thought the sea could be quite shallow, but that was just illusion. I have a few times feels like I might lost control, but thanks god, I’m safe.

We do have great time splashing each other in the water.

Once again, pimp on goolooloo.com but it was quite blur.

dd=.=bb Don’t leave me alone in the island ok?

When bunch of friends get together, we play whatever we think of. And think of , YMCA. :)

Liang is always the JOKER. Ok la, entertainer for all of us.

Liang is proud to present, Water Ballet!!! But failed!!!

I left the guys enjoying in the water, and i go alone explore in the island. I walk very very far away to capture some breathtaking scenes, and this is my kaypohness, I fell down!

So i fell down, I sat on the rock, and I continue my photoshooting.
As long as my Canon 40D is safe!

The rock

and the Rocker.
Kuang kuang kuang kuang!

Another breathtaking scene…

And I caught this cute little boy who speak cantonese, I guess he must be a hongkies.
He keep on posing and let me snap his picture. :)

And i found a dead corpse doing sun bathing. Sun Tan!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m all exhausted, dehydrated and sun burnt!
Looking at my own ugly pictures, I bet you gonna have nite mares seeing this.

Hip Hip Hurray!
The trip was fruitful, we all enjoyed very much. Happy-ING!

We left the island at 2pm, but the jety was packed with visitors. It took quite sometime for the boat to arrive. So once again, we have some candid shot at the jetty.

Once again, Lakkia Forever!!!

Isn’t that she’s pretty?
This is Sofia, but sorry, she is taken by Liang. Congratulations on their ROM on 080808!!!

haha.. This one also not bad la!

To conclude, Liang as the entertainer says, its good to come out for vacation like this. And he show us how to really enjoy your vacation. In chinese, when we say go vacation, we say go “chi fong”, in Malay it is Makan Angin. So he demonstrate us, how to Eat the Wind as the conclusion of the trip to Pulau Sapi. Well done dudes!

Once again we are back to Jesselton Point.

Although I got all the burns and swelling legs, but its worth for the trip.

dd=.=bb
I made the very very long entry, which consist of 44 pictures. Thanks for your time, and catch up for the Manukan Updates. Hope you enjoy your time here.

Back from KK, fun but pain!

12

August

I’m back from my 3days 2nights vacation at Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The trip was great, I have good times spent with 9 of my good buddies.  And now, I’m all over exhausted. Will need to recharge back my energy first before i can really start blogging.

Goolooloo was on Manukan Island.

I went snorkerling straight for 2 days. Its really risky for a fatpanda to go snorkerling, as I really can’t swim. Somehow, my friends are helpful to be my guide and let me be their burden. They swim, and i attached to them. Haha.. the snorkerling experience was damn scary but fun!

Anyway, fun is fun. I did not bring any souvenirs back, but infact they gave it for free.

I got free sun burnt!

See the fat baby skin, it turns into dark bangla skin now! But i never see fat bangla.

And.. 3 sand fly bites on my legs and arms.

And being too naughty, i cut my leg while playing in the water.
Ouch, its very pain ok!

This is the best gift from the island. Anyway.. its fun!!! and I’m giving to you all. hahahaha.

dd=.=bb
Stay tune, will have more updates coming. Let me rest first wokey? Thank you ah..

KK Day 2: Manukan Island and 1Borneo

10

August

I had to wake up at 7:30am to catch the 8am boat to Manukan Island. The boat ride takes about 15 minutes and it costs RM17/person. The island’s scenery is simply breath-taking! But there isn’t much that we could do there other than snorkerling and photo shooting.

After coming back from the Island, we then head down to 1Borneo, Borneo’s largest lifestyle mall – the one that costs RM1billion!

Okay, I know this blurry picture doesn’t tell the whole story. Certainly doesn’t look anywhere like a BIG shopping mall here. But, if you wanna see more,  you can check out this forum.

So, this is where we had our lunch in Manhattan Fish Market. 1Borneo is pretty far away from the hotel where we stayed. We were about to take a taxi cab, but the hotel told us that there’s free shuttle bus service to 1Borneo!!! Hurray! RM25 saved!

There’s a lot of big name anchor tenants under 1Borneo. Even the Tune Hotel is there and they have their own departmental store too! One downside to the mall is that, most of the shoplots are still empty! Not enough for me to shop okay!!!

Whops, the bus is almost here! Time to get back to the hotel for a nice bath and sleep!

That’s all for now. Once again, this post had been brought to you by the slow and steady, DiGi EDGE.

Beijing 2008 welcomes Hello Panda

08

August

The Beijing 2008 Olympic Games is finally here today on 080808. There’s 18hours to go before the Opening Ceremony. The date itself sounds very auspicious and I do hope that it can be very successful throughout the events. Although rumors has start saying, its very messy now in China, protest are everywhere. But don’t worry, I believe they can make it through!

The Beijing 2008 Olympic Games emblem “Chinese Seal, Dancing Beijing” is filled with Beijing’s hospitality and hopes, and carries the city’s commitment to the world.

These are the mascots of Beijing 2008

I’m not sure if I’m influence by my dad or just because I’m also a Chinese, I do feel excited too for this coming events. I never been so excited for the previous games but this is the first time the Chinese hold the games, we should fully support them, with whatever spirits we have.

The group of Mirian who drive all the way from MIRI to BEIJING should be arriving today. I hope they are just in time to witness the opening ceremony. Errm, my dad represent my family will be going to Beijing this coming 9thAugust08 to witness the Beijing Olympic Games too. Then, as the daughter, I’ll be going to Sabah to have fun on the island. Haha, cannot la, must also show my support, that’s why i am here to blog about the event!

jingjing
This is Jing Jing the panda, I am the Panda :)

Jingjing makes children smile — and that’s why he brings the blessing of happiness wherever he goes. You can see his joy in the charming naivety of his dancing pose and the lovely wave of his black and white fur. As a national treasure and a protected species, pandas are adored by people everywhere. The lotus designs in Jingjing’s headdress, which are inspired by the porcelain paintings of the Song Dynasty (A.D.960-1234), symbolize the lush forest and the harmonious relationship between man and nature. Jingjing was chosen to represent our desire to protect nature’s gifts — and to preserve the beauty of nature for all generations. Jingjing is charmingly naïve and optimistic. He is an athlete noted for strength who represents the black Olympic ring.

To show my support, I show you my Hello Panda collections!!! Hurray!!! Hahaha… Finally you all are revealed on this auspicious date 080808!

My hello panda collections!
Not to say a lot, but i think i have most of the packaging and flavours. :)
Hello Panda is the biscuits with cream fillings. It is a product of Singapore.
Since i turn into panda, and this has turn into on of my favorite tidbits.

From time to time, MeiJi will change the product packaging as well as the printed cartoons on the biscuits. That is why it can turn to be my collection, as I represent the Pandas :)

Strawberry Cream

The most common flavor that can be found at the supermarket are the strawberry , milky and chocolates. Somehow the price difference from each supermarket does give me a big shock!

Price range from RM2.50 to RM4.00 the minimum for 45grm packaging.

Milky cream.
My friend being so creative even help me to change the nutrition facts. =.=

Have yourself enjoy with Hello Panda, it consist of CARE, MISS, MUAKS, CRAZY, SAYANG & LOVE!!

Chocolate Biscuits with Chocolate Cream

Ever since i start collecting Hello Panda about 5 months ago, wherever I go , I will try to hunt for Hello Panda. If i found there’s new packaging then I’ll buy it.

The BIG box contains of 10 individual small packets inside.

And when it comes to season greetings, they package will be even more fun! Seeing all the cute pandas enjoying the festive!

Panda rocks!

RM17.50 for the big one. It would be slightly cheaper to get it from Brunei or Singapore.

Choco Cream
This is what Jerry got it from KB last week. The 450grm canned packaging. Thank you!

.

.

.
The belows are the few, quite rare to be found in the market.

Cookies and Cream

PEANUT CREAM

I bought them from Emart (Tudan, Miri) RM2.50

Last, its stated new product but actually it was out for quite sometime.

Panda Land Printed Biscuits.
There’s no cream inside.RM3.50 from Ng Sian Hap (MIRI)

If you happen to see panda, do think of me. And if you happen to see Hello Panda, do get one for me. I collect their box only, you can eat up the biscuits, I don’t really mind :) Thank you!!!

Come, and let us together weave a peaceful and wonderful dream.
Welcome BeiJing 2008!!!!!

Let’s have a wild guess!!!

07

August

I was random checking the picture folders and found a silly picture which i think its worth to share. So let’s have a wild guess, and if you got it correct maybe I buy you a McD meal???

  1. Who is this?
  2. Where is that?
  3. What happen to her?

dd=.=bb
Time to sleep, good nite~

It takes time to forget and accept. How true?

06

August

Life has been constant, nothing much happen, but thanks goodness that I manage to crawl to KB and have a great dinner before the custom close. ;) Attached some trip photo which are totally unrelated to this post.

I’m not going to write a life philosophy tonight, perhaps someone remind me a real fact of life.

He says “do you think there are still people talking about the petrol price hike issues??”. Yes there is. But people tend to slowly forget and life has to goes on even with the price hike.

Seriously, he got the point, it takes time to for those busybody to keep their mouth shut. It takes times for some people to forget the case. The most crucial is, it takes the longest time to accept the fact!  I don’t know how true is that, but thanks for your good advice, I’ll digest it my own. :) Let’s be WISE!

This is Goolooloo’s territory :) All belongs to ME.

I was just being happy to found the prune juice for my digestion system.

It scare me off, that we saw Indian Tonic Water.

Or you prefer i torture you more with lime juice?

TomYam should be tastier with limejuice :)

Have to wake up early, kerja mari mari !!!!

Astronomy Night @ Petronas Museum

04

August

Over the weekend, I’ve spend my precious time hanging out with the mc.net gang. Thanks to stupidhead for organizing the astronomy weekend at MIRI, it given me a chances to explore more about Astronomy.

Here we go for a group photo of MC gang, you wanna know who is stupid head? Hmm, please look for the smart face instead of stupid. Kakaka.
L-R: Begins with me, Angel Lina, Artrun and Jerry. The remaining un categorised are belongs to StupidHead ;)

Stupidhead who is not stupid and his partner CK from Penang has put the greatest effort to hold some events through out the weekend. While Jerry, Lina and I attended the sidewalk astronomy observation at Petroleum Museum last night. To my surprise, it actually attracts quite a few number of people to turn up for the observation, the weather is consider “good” also at least I’ve given chances to witness the Moon, Saturn, Jupiter and I’ve learn what is south cross!!!

I was very excited over the night that this is the first time in my life I shoot for astronomy photography. Once again thanks to stupidhead, he taught me its actually just a point and shoot but make sure you don’t take any drugs before that, cos shaking hands will only damage the photo results. :)

Jerry: This is google taokenio all rights reserved! Don’t steal my photo and put Jerry’s copyrighted ah! Else I’m going to burn all the TOMATO!

We left the sidewalk observation around 8.30pm, then we go for a dinner. Cos Jerry and I are definitely on a diet scheme, no no.. cos we taken too much during the food hunt in the morning. Having the late night dinner is pretty unhealthy, but luckily AngelLina is so slim, she can help me to “kaotim” my portion. Kekeke.. somemore Jerry so gentle… ahem*

Dinner is over, Alex,Florence, StupidHead and CK joined us around 10. We have some limteh session on ghost stories sharing. Hey its the 7th month of lunar calendar, don’t play play lar!

The more they say, the more i scare. Haha.. and kesian Jerry’s hand got pinched!

And..

I got spilled!!!!!

Florence being too excited, or dunno maybe sexcited, haha… spilled the whole glass of chinese tea on my pants. It looks so awful, that I seems like pee on my pants!

But its ok la, i know she did in on PURPOSE. Wakakaka!!!

To revenge, we hunt to Florence’s new house and mess around the house. But we sempat lagi to camwhore, thats for sure. It was 12 something, but we still dare dare turn on the hifi system loud. Haha.. Florence, did your neighbour lodge complain????

Ok la. It was 12.37pm we left the house. Our driver Jerry have to send us home one by one. Thanks so much ya!!!
