After 3 Cafe & Little Banquet – Miri
19
September
It was out of a sudden, we notice a new eatery place blooming out in the middle of Miri Old Streets off Kingsway Road. However, I feel that the owner of this cafe seems to be extraordinary. For me, I don’t think the location is gonna be as strategic as they thought or maybe I am wrong.

Somehow this place used to be an “Open Air Karaoke” for the hawkers. Which it don’t even attract much of the people to go near this streets if its not because of the Magistrate offices. Its pretty amaze that After Three could rent down this “PUBLIC OWN” place and turn into such a beautiful cafe and restaurant. At least, this is some credit for the landscaping, it turns the “Old” street of Miri into a “New” one!

After 3 cafe is attach with Little Banquet. While After 3 is serving ala carte dish, from local economical food to western food, Little Banquet is open for booking only if you want to have a private function over there. From what I could see, it roughly accommodate up to 10 tables including a small stage only. So that’s why it is call as Little Banquet.

So here I’m gonna do a review for After 3 since I haven’t been to Little Banquet. From what I understand, the origin of After 3 was started in Kuching, Sarawak. So this could be branded as Local Franchise. They have several branches over Sarawak. By the name itself, it could be quite attracting and easy to memorize. So its gonna be the talk of the City! Oh ya, they serve no pork. So Muslim friends, do feel free to give them a try.
I’ve tried their western food once in Bintulu, I swear I will never try that again. So this time, we go for Seafood fried rice.

Alex enjoy the fried rice. I think its nice. Somehow, they mistaken the drinks for us.
He ordered Barley Peng and it turn out Horlick Peng. =.=|||

I had Fried Kuih Tiaw with Beef RM 6.50 and a glass of Honey Sea Coconut.
Taste good, only that the price and portion would be a bit out of ratio.
During our Second Visit, Alex want to try something new. He had this Chicken Chop with noodle. If not mistaken it cost about RM5.80.

The sauce taste like Thai Sauce but at least, this time the portion and the price ration does match!

As for me, oh, I fall in love with their Fried Rice. Hence I go for Yang Zhou Fried Rice. Absolutely nice!
See, I even emptied the plate! Omaigoat!
Out of 10. I would rate as below:
Food: 6 – Food is consider good for what I’ve tried
Drink: 7 – Drinks ok, so far no special drinks available.
Service: 6 – Everything seems new, need sometime to pick up. Wrong bills, wrong orders.
Price: 6 – With such environment, the price is reasonable. Yet they do have promotion items such as Kopi -O for RM1.
Environment : 7 – The aircond need to adjust, slightly hot in the afternoon at the front part.
Parking: 3 – I think this is the worst case. Where you need to park accross the road to get a good parking. Unless you go at night. And this place often face traffic jam during the peak hours.
Cleanliness: 6 – Everything seems transparent, except their kitchen. Somehow, overall environment is clean enough as it now.

The next to be reviewed will be The Little Banquet. Looking forward if there’s any occasion gonna be held here. Are you inviting me over?
So have you been to After 3 or Little Banquet? Do let me know how’s your point of view towards this cafe.

这里的服务非常的差!我第一次去吃就让我等足足一个钟多,问招待既然说没有进到我们的ORDER!浪费我的时间!太差了!我没有下一次回去这里!
Ya, they mistaken my order as well. But maybe they are just newly open, give them some space for improvement. Who know 2 months later their service improve ? hehe
