Credit Card Ah Long…
02
March
I am back.. has been idle for so long, and I’m back just because I have a ranting post today, its worth to spend some of my precious time to rant here just to release my anger! Wakaka..

Long long ago I’ve blog about how many credit cards I’ve got, its not to show off , but in fact it was big mistake that I had owned more than 3 cards. Hence, half year ago, I’ve decided to cancel all my cards and remain 2 just for emergency purpose.
The procedure to cancel a card in fact is quite an easy step from what I know, *correct me if im wrong cibol*. The RHB’S card was the easiest one as I never activated it. So the officer just cut off the card in front of me, and asked me to sign on an agreement. Everything was void on the spot, and ya, the card was cancelled.
Things goes more complicated if I use that particular card for installment, ya, I did some installment for the OSIM health equipment which is only RM1399 and it gave me 0% interest. That is why I go for installment. It was done with Alliance Bank. It was offered to me when I apply for e-Cosway, and it comes together with that Credit Card.
It was suddenly out of the blue, the card has been deactivated. I went to the nearest branch of Alliance Bank to find out what’s actually happening, and they told me the program with e-Cosway has ended. Hence all the card holder who is holding that kind of card will be cancel, *without noticed – added by me cos i wasnt been notified*.

Ok. Since in that case, I asked, what about my other installment plan that goes under that card? The pretty lady officer told me, ya, you can pay all your remaining balance of your installment and cancel your card. So I did as what she told me, and I’ve paid her the remaining RM600 plus. She took back my credit card, and I witnessed she did everything and even “CUT” my card into half!!!! Alright, the card was cancelled. I have no more outstanding with that f*cking bank.
2-3 months after the cancellation, out of the blue again, I received a call, very common la, if you receive call offering you bank loan or credit cards.. but this time, different lo. The credit card ah long called me. She let me know that I’m actually owing their bank some amount, few hundreds, *I can’t recall*. I was like, “WHAT?? I’ve CANCELLED my card few months back, and now you say I owe you money?”. I let her know what I’ve go through with that bank officer and she says she will check and get back to me. Fine, so I just wait for her reply.
1-2 months later.. which is last Thursday, I receive another call. She finally get back to me, I’m not sure if its the same person, but this time I don’t give face and I just shoot them with my AK47!!!! She threatened me if I do not pay my outstanding, and I will get penalty of RM500 on top of all my outstanding. I raised up my voice again, I repeat again, I’ve clear all my outstanding when I cancel my card. Is that true that I really owe you money or your officer overlooked on my account? And if so is that my fault??

She was numb for a second. She told me not to raise up my voice on her. I admit I was damn angry by then. I feel annoyed, mainly because I feel so innocent, why suddenly they say I owe them money! I say, get me the prove that I owe you money, only then I am willing to pay. I repeat, I won’t pay a single extra for the interest as I did want to clear all my outstanding 5 months ago, and now after the account has been cancel for so long and they came to claim i owe them money! That is ridiculous!!!
Pity that lady who called, although I was damn angry with that case, but I said sorry to her in the end of the conversation. I knew its not her fault, she’s just a messenger or so called “AH LONG” that speak proper English. She said she will come back to me again, and will try to waive all the interest that might apply to me. If that’s the case, it shall be fine.
Recently I just heard a case that a man trying to sue Standard Chartered Bank and he filed a court case against that bank. Bank Negara even offered him air ticket and hotel accomodation in KL while attending the court session. He won the case. Good try right?
So now, the Ranting has come to the end. I’m still waiting for her call. But then, shall anyone advice me what should I do next. I believe a lot of you know lots about Banking Industries. Although this might not be a big amount, but it’s my right to get what is right! Hmm.. or really I also need to file a court case against them? HAhahhaa.. then I can go KL shopping while Bank Negara pay me airticket and invite my friends to stay with me at the hotel? Wakakakaa..
That’s just my imagination..
I’m still waiting for her reply…
I don’t want to chase by Ah Long everyday…
Please advice….

hmmm you can try to go back to that ”officer” whom u pay her the balance and cut off ur card??…or just any Alliance Bank… to clarify and clear out the thing once and for all… rather than waiting for the ”ah long” to give you a sudden call months later…
if i were you… i think i will scold them ‘kau kau’ (enuf enuf) also… hahhaa
this stupid alliance bank charge on my Ikea credit card interest just for 1-day of late payment + late payment charge of RM10 last month..!!! As i still got Credit balance in my ikea card… but instead i have to pay the interest and charges separately… why cant they just contra it…. its still 1 card 1 account only…..stupiak bank…!!
hi marogal, I actually cancelled my card at Sibu, and it was already half year ago. So i went to the nearest branch at Miri.
I am angry, very angry.. but I scold the officer in Miri is not her fault at all, I asked for her help instead of scolding her. So she finalized out for me, and the credit card department consider quite helpful, she said she tried to waive all the interest applied to me. Say only la, waive or not, i dunno also….

Okay, first – the credit card centre at all cost you must call them because only them would know how much you owe then you go to the branch, erase the remaining and there you go. Walla – kaching!!! your card will be cut into pieces – If me lah.
And, after use pay in full – make sure you don’t use more than you can afford to pay at one go la. Because the interest charged will be “superbly” incredible.
Never ever use cash advance – it’s nasty. They charged you interest straight away.
File all your credit card statements for records – in case you wanna sue them, it will come in handy.
Thanks!
P/S : Call centres are usually third party and not the bank – they earned commission (*winks*)
Cibol.
Thanks so much for ur advice.
Yes, I went to the nearest Alliance Bank, she explain to me, that’s actually an outstanding of my IPP installment plan, but that officer maybe mabuk or mimpi did not check thoroughly and end up just cancel my account like tat.
At least I knew, I did owe such money , hence I’m willing to settle it. But not the interest.
I dun keep any of my statement as i keep on moving here and there, can’t have a proper copy.
Anyway, since the bank can keep track of all transaction, it shall be fine.

the purpose of keeping the statements is for you to keep track of your expenditure. Credit card can be a useful personal finance tool. No joke! but use it wisely
