If you're coming from Miri, Kaizen Sushi in Seria is closer. As you pass through the Brunei toll, just drive straight ahead for 15 minutes until you reach Seria, the oil town. Kaizen Sushi is on the first floor of one of shophouses next to Plaza Seria. If I'm not mistaken, downstairs is a goldsmith shop. You can see a couple of Japanese lanterns hanging at the staircase entrance. They are rarely as crowded as Excapade Sushi with a brighter atmosphere. Lots of good choices on the menu but they're missing the drinks and dessert menu which is a bit weird. But just say what you want to drink and they'll most likely have it.

Sushi Tei is in Gadong. If you've been to Excapade Sushi in Gadong, Sushi Tei is located on the opposite block. Can't comment much about the food but the 20-30% lunchtime discount is always appealing.

Another nice sushi restaurant, Takara Restaurant, is in Gadong, right behind the Centrepoint Hotel. This one is a bit hidden, I have to make a full circle of the building before I can find it. Not much choices on the menu but since its pretty isolated, the atmosphere there is very peaceful.

I can go on and on about the other sushi places since we Bruneians tend to love our food more, that's why so many choices. Excapade has already gone crazy with their 5 branches. XD

Excapade has always been overrated in my opinion. Yah, its a popular place to chill out and have sushi but if you are after cheap sushi in Brunei, Sushi Tei in Gadong ALWAYS have discounts or cheap buffets. If you're looking for quality and fresh sushi, Kaizen Sushi in Kiarong or Seria is best. =) I've been to Japan before so I know Kaizen's prawn tempura and udon tastes the closest to what you'll find in Japan.
